JOURDAN MILLER

Dr. Amanda Farley

Doctor of Optometry

Dr. Farley grew up in Abbotsford but her love for the outdoors drew her to Kamloops where she completed her Bachelor of Science with honours at Thompson Rivers University in 2006. She went on to graduate from the University of Waterloo in 2010 and has proudly called herself an optometrist ever since. Dr. Farley’s passion for advocating the importance of eye health examinations to prevent vision loss lead her to serve on the board of directors and eventually as president for the British Columbia Doctors of Optometry in 2017. After graduation she practiced in Abbotsford for 3 years and when her family relocated to Vernon in November of 2013 she joined the team at Vernon Optometry. When she is not in the office, Dr. Farley enjoys spending time with her family, snowboarding, hiking and when it’s much too cold outside, knitting. After more than a decade in the North Okanagan, she is proud to call it home and enjoys serving the community who have so kindly embraced her. Dr. Farley is currently accepting new patients of all ages.

Dr. Samantha Laudinsky

Doctor of Optometry, BSc

Samantha began her career as a University of Manitoba graduate with a Bachelor of Science degree, where she then continued on to complete her Doctor of Optometry degree from the University of Waterloo in 2019. She has had many opportunities to combine those passions with being the vice president of VOSH, which is a volunteer program that organizes optometric trips around the world. She recently went on a month-long trip to Nicaragua where she worked alongside a local surgeon to provide glaucoma treatment, prescription glasses and cataract surgery to many patients in need. Her passion for international volunteer work has sent her across the world to help many others - including trips to Ecuador, Switzerland, and Thailand. Samantha has a special interest in ocular disease after doing specialized rotations with both a retinal and glaucoma specialist in Atlanta, Georgia. She loves working with patients of all ages and is really excited to enjoy all that the Okanagan has to offer. When not in the clinic, Samantha and her husband, Danny, can be found enjoying the many outdoor activities that B.C. has to offer - specifically snowboarding and hiking.
