FAQ about Contact Lens Exams
What is a Contact Lens Fitting?
During a contact lens exam, your doctor measures the curvature of your cornea, assesses your pupil and iris to ensure the contact lenses fit properly. These measurements determine which contact brands, size, and material is right for you. Once the correct contact lens is confirmed, you may require a contact lens fitting. This specialized appointment determines if the contact lenses the doctor prescribed fits your eye, helps your vision, and if you’ve never worn them before teaches you how to get them in your eye!!
What should I expect for my Contact Lens fitting?
You can expect to come for an hour long appointment with our contact lens trainer. During this appointment, she will confirm insertion and removal techniques for your contacts! We strive to keep our contact fittings calm, and inviting.
Why is there a fee for my Contact Lens fitting?
There is a one time fee associated with most contact lens fittings. This fee is to cover the hour long training appointment with the contact lens trainer. If additional appointments are necessary for training, the intial fee covers these appointments. You will meet with our optician, recieve a set of trials, and if more trials are necessary, there is no addititional charge. If any relevant supplies are required, they will be provided for you.
